I wrote this song about my beloved brother-in-lautism, Bryan Nevins (1989 — 2010). Prior to his First Communion, they tried to teach him some rudimentary Catholic info (e.g., God lives in heaven). At the same time, his teachers tried to teach him some rudimentary biographical info (e.g., Bryan lives in Oceanside). As such, the signals got crossed, and for the rest of his life, if you asked Bryan where he lived, he said “Heaven,” and if you asked him where God lived, he said, “Oceanside.” And I always thought that was charming. He was an exceptionally charming fellow.
